Abstract

The genus Ampulex Jurine (Hymenoptera: Ampulicidae) is studied fromIndia with the description of one new species, Ampulex sadiyae Anagha andGirish Kumar sp. nov., from Kerala. The reported distributions of A.ceylonica Krombein, A. compressa (Fabricius), and A. dissector (Thunberg)within various states of India are augmented here. A key and an updatedchecklist to the Indian species of Ampulex Jurine are provided.
